Floodlight Cam

Tech Update - Subject 1 image

Wyze, the affordable smart home manufacturer, continues to disrupt the market with unbelievably cheap yet robust smart home devices. In December, the company finally released a floodlight security camera: the Wyze Cam Floodlight. At $85, it is the most affordable floodlight cam on the market, much less than both Google ($280) and Ring ($180+). I use Wyze cams in my home, and I quickly added this floodlight to my security system when it was released. I'm continually impressed with the cost-performance ratio of Wyze's smart home devices, and I can't wait to see the next device this company comes up with.

Got Fiber?

Remote Control for Garage Door

It seems like it's everywhere: companies advertising fiber optic internet, but do you need it? Absolutely yes, a thousand times yes. I was so excited when AT&T finally showed up at my door asking if I wanted fiber. Fiber optic internet is cheaper, faster, more reliable, and overall a better signal. Just like moving from dial-up internet to cable was a huge jump, it’s now time to move from cable to fiber. If fiber comes to your house, all you have to do is swap out your cable modem with the ISP's device, and you instantly have the next level in speeds. Curious about fiber optic? We can help you every step of the way.

DIRECTV Stream

Remote Control for Garage Door

There is a new major player in the Internet TV game: DIRECTV Stream. This was AT&T’s response to the growing demand for cable-cutting, as many of our clients have done. With AT&T's power, they rolled out DIRECTV Stream with the most complete channel package of any service provider. That top package comes at $95/mo, which is higher than both YouTube TV ($65) and Hulu Live TV ($70). This service is worth it if you need some niche channels like the Tennis Channel or NHL Network, but otherwise, we still think YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV are the best bangs for your buck out there.
