FALL 2024
TCL just made the largest TV in the world.
Two new companies are shaking things up for the established industry giants.
TCL 115" TV
What's the biggest TV you've ever seen? 85"? If so, you might be shocked to see that Hisense and TCL have released 100" TVs that you can buy right now from BestBuy. In the past, TVs that size would be extremely expensive ($20k or more). But these are "only" around $3,000. Now that may sound like a lot, but a 65" LG G4 is the same price.
If you're wondering what you'd do with a 100" TV, you wouldn't be the first. These TVs are meant for home theaters and massive rooms where you need a very large screen. Instead of worrying about wiring up a projector with a screen, you can simply plug in this TV and you immediately have a complete video solution. We posted a blog earlier this year about replacing home theater projectors with TVs, since it is a very common practice nowadays.
If you're really looking to push the limits, TCL even released a 115" TV (yes, you read that right). At 5ft tall and over 8ft wide, it the largest consumer TV in the world. It is an absolute monster, and currently on sale for $17,000. There are very few buyers for this type of solution, but it really shows how TCL is innovating and becoming a serious competitor in the large TV space.
With Black Friday deals already starting, it may be the perfect time to get that massive TV you've always wanted!
Inovelli
Smart lighting has a lot of companies vying for the top position: Lutron, Brilliant, Philips Hue, and more, all achieving it in a different way. There is a new player that has a lot of people in the smart home community talking: Inovelli. This is a new company that makes sleek, smart light switches that are designed for customizability, simplicity, and performance. Their platform highlights the use of Matter, which is a cutting-edge technology that is the future of smart home control.
The company was created from users in the smart home community that weren't happy with the state of smart lighting, so the whole platform is focused on making things customizable. They are so popular right now that they consistently sell out of their switches during each restock. We are working on a project now that uses dozens of these switches, and they have some really cool tech built in.
Each light switch in your home or business can be replaced with a smart switch, enabling 24/7 control and scheduling of the lighting in your home. They have motion-activated switches, fan switches, and even color labeled button switches that look like the expensive Lutron ones. No matter how you do it, these light switches could be an impressive upgrade to your lighting.
Alta Labs
Ubiquiti has been the top-dog of software-defined networking (SDN) for many businesses. TP-Link's Omada service has given them a run for their money, but only until recently did a serious competitor come about: Alta Labs. This company was founded by ex-Ubiquiti employees unhappy with the direction Ubiquiti was going. The result is a company with all the good features of the Unifi system, plus some quality-of-life improvements that we love.
The best feature of this new company is the support. Alta Labs is a smaller team than the giant that is Ubiquiti, allowing their support and sales staff to have a much more personal touch. We recently became a dealer for Alta Labs and have experienced firsthand the incredibly dedicated team behind their products. We even got to meet some of the owners of the company and they have a great vision for Alta Labs.
If you're looking for a Ubiquiti alternative with some more user-friendly features, Alta Labs may be a perfect fit. Their new Route10 router with 10Gbps capability in a small form factor is a unique solution that many businesses are looking for. Contact us today to see some other features that will make managing your network and Wi-Fi easier than ever.
